Crunchy snapper, and spicy curry.Didn't have to drive into town to enjoy fresh fish that came fried whole in 3 sizes. The curry and rice combo came generously portioned with the options of shrimp or chicken.I really appreciated the mosquito repellent smoke they placed around the outside dining, and that they stay open a little later even in the off season.5/5 crispy flakey fish and kind service to go.

We stopped here on a whim driving into San Pedro and were more than pleasantly surprised with this off beat restaurant. You just pull your golf cart up, grab a table and order. The drinks were amazing, and the food was beyond amazing. They had music playing, cute lights everywhere, corn hole to keep you occupied, and even hammocks to relax in while you wait. Food took a while, but they were over the top apologetic which wasn’t even necessary. We’re in Belize! Who cares how long something takes! The atmosphere was just so amazing and laid back. The prices were great and the food was amazing. We are going back for the seafood platter tonight! I will post more pics and updated review! Can’t wait!!!

We visited the Tipsy Lobster for dinner and it was very good! With lots of tables in the sand and the rope lights illuminating the entire seating area, thus is a must visit for dinner. They even have insect repellant candles burning around every table. The food was very good! We started with shrimp and lobster ceviche. This was served in a conch shell and we all loved it. Beware the habamero salsa they serve on the side is very hot! I'm very picky about ceviche because so many places make it with too much lime. This was perfect. Nelson our server was wonderful and recommended the jerk fish for me. It was wonderful as well. We also had, shrimp kabobs, shrimp coconut curry, and fisherman's style shrimp. Everyone enjoyed this meal. Great atmosphere, great food, great service!

My husband and I visited here multiple times over our 4 days at Belizean Shores. The food was wonderful with great evening atmosphere. I highly recommend the kabobs, ceviche, blackened grilled fish, and shrimp tacos. We also had nachos and the shrimp curry, you really can’t go wrong. Definitely worth checking out!

We visited The Tipsy Lobster on a Saturday night, our first evening after landing on Ambergris Caye. The restaurant’s location couldn’t have been more convenient—just a quick, 5-minute golf cart ride from our stay at the Barrier Reef residence. Since it was a Saturday and the restaurant is closed on Sundays, they were operating with a limited menu, but that didn’t diminish the experience one bit. The food, atmosphere, and service were all exceptional, making it a standout spot we’d eagerly return to.AtmosphereThough The Tipsy Lobster isn’t situated directly on the water, it offers a pleasant dining experience nonetheless. A refreshing breeze kept things comfortable, and they had mosquito coils burning throughout the space, which did an excellent job of keeping the bugs at bay—a big plus in tropical Belize.Food and DrinksThe meal started with a ceviche conch, served elegantly in a half conch shell. It was a standout dish—delicate, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It came with a side of their famous habanero hot sauce, and let me tell you, it’s no joke! The heat was intense, but it had a wonderful, layered flavor that elevated the ceviche perfectly. We followed that with three fish tacos to share, which were just as delightful. Even with the limited menu, the kitchen proved its ability to deliver consistent quality and taste. The main event was a grilled lionfish, a unique and fresh choice that was both tender and delicate. It’s worth noting that lionfish is an invasive species in some regions, so eating it felt like a small win for the ecosystem too. The fish was paired with a side of coconut-sweetened rice, which I found to be a perfect complement—subtly sweet and beautifully balanced with the savory fish. That said, if you’re not a fan of sweetness in your savory dishes, it might feel a tad much. One minor hiccup: the bottom half of the lionfish was tricky to eat. The bones were hard to navigate, and it stuck a bit to the foil, making it less enjoyable than the top half.To wash it all down, we enjoyed a few local beers, which added a nice touch of Belizean flair to the meal and paired wonderfully with the seafood.ServiceOur server was friendly and efficient, making the evening even more enjoyable. The attentiveness added to the relaxed yet polished vibe of the place.Overall ImpressionEven with a limited menu due to it being Saturday night before their Sunday closure, The Tipsy Lobster delivered an outstanding dining experience. From the fresh, creative seafood dishes to the warm service and comfortable setting, it’s easy to see why this spot earns a well-deserved five stars. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Ambergris Caye!

Nelson engaged my 10 year old son who is taking Spanish and who is all about lobster right now like he really cared. The vibe and the atmosphere were amazing, our positive experience was about more than the food (which was amazing) if you’re staying anywhere near here it’s a must do.Ceviche was the best I’ve ever had!

This place was awesome. Did the whole fried fish, it was killer. The cocktails were the best I have had on the island. Best part was Nelson, the owner/manager, he took incredible care of us, even held our baby while we ate! Definitely the best service we have experienced in the area. Thanks!

Our party of eight loved the Tipsy Lobster food so much, it's the only place we ate at twice on our 6 day stay in San Pedro. Downright delicious. And the cocktails are great too. Highly recommend.
